We specialise in tailored support services for people with autism.
We know that the autistic spectrum is incredibly wide, so we adapt our support to fit each individual’s choices and capabilities using person centred planning tools, active support and positive behaviour support.
Some people we support do not communicate using methods such as speech, symbols or signs. For us, the best solution for supporting individuals with autism is a dedicated staff team that can work with each person to understand how best they communicate.
To achieve this, we ensure that our staff receive a range of specialist training, including:
- Introduction to autistic spectrum disorders
- Introduction to Asperger’s syndrome
- Sensory world of people with autism
- The SPELL framework (Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication handicapped Children)
- Challenging behaviour.
As part of our commitment to providing excellence in support, we are completing the National Autistic Society Accreditation in Autism.
The amount of support provided depends on the needs of each person – from one hour a week to 24/7.
