Modern Slavery Statement
Walsingham Support
Here at Walsingham Support, we are committed to promoting ethical practices and ensuring that modern slavery does not occur within our operations, within agencies or organisations that provide us with resources or services, or within the supply chain. As an organisation that supports vulnerable adults we are acutely aware of the risks of people being exploited and we are committed to ensuring that all people working with us or involved in supporting our activities are treated with dignity and respect and that all organisations we work with meet our ethical standards. This statement outlines our efforts to combat modern slavery and protect vulnerable individuals. We have chosen to voluntarily comply with the reporting requirements under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Organisation
As a charity we have been working to support individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs, for over 30 years. We work alongside adults with complex needs to fulfil their life aspirations and in doing so we see the person and not the limitations. We have approximately 850 employees working across all of our services and departments and we are satisfied that our robust processes and the due diligence we apply ensures that to the best of our ability we do not have modern slavery or human trafficking within the organisation. Our approach in both practice and policy seeks to ensure that we will prevent any occurrences of modern slavery or trafficking and that where we encounter any potential issues with suppliers or other organisations we work with, that these can be reported and investigated effectively. This is enabled through our recruitment & selection processes, our policy framework including whistleblowing, safeguarding and grievance policies and through the due diligence processes we have put in place.
Our Approach
- Zero Tolerance: We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We strive to act ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.
- Risk Assessment: We regularly assess the risk of modern slavery within our organization and supply chains. This includes evaluating agency usage, recruitment practices, and working conditions.
- Due Diligence: We conduct due diligence on suppliers and partners to ensure they share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. We engage in open dialogue and encourage transparency.
