Deven joined the board in September 2018. He has worked in the health, local authority, housing and charity sectors for 40 years, making him well placed for a balanced overview of the environment in which Walsingham Support operates. He has worked as a specialist trained nurse as well as more senior roles, including his current position as Chief Executive of Harrow Mencap, which he has held for 16 years.
Deven was attracted to join the board of Walsingham Support by the alignment of the organisations values with his own; those of supporting the less advantaged, the rights of individuals and promoting equality and diversity in society. Deven has extensive Committee and Board experience, which currently includes the Management Board of North West Mencap Consortium, Local Safeguarding Adults Board, Local Health Watch Delivery Board, Learning disability Partnership Group and Harrow Community Action Board, a consortium of VCS organisations.
