Tales of a Long conflict

Supported living service user Andrew will be taking to the stage when he appears in the Prism Arts Studio Theatre production of ‘Tales of a Long conflict’. Commemorating the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and adapted from real stories, the play focuses on how war impacts on families and home life. In collaboration with Cumbria Military Museum and using a mixture of shadow puppetry, projection, spoken word and music from the period, the story follows the men of the Border Regiment who fell in combat.

Staff recognised Andrew’s creativity and encouraged him to attend the local arts organisation, Prism Arts, which gives people with disabilities the opportunity to learn about, and get involved with, drama, music and art.

Justine Williams, Manager at Andrew’s service, said:

“It is great to see Andrew getting involved in activities he enjoys and being able to showcase his talents to a local audience, I can’t wait to watch the production on Monday.”
