Welcoming Holly to the Walsingham Support family

We are reaching the end of an era at Walsingham Support. In September 2022, our Chief Executive of 17 years, Paul Snell, will be stepping down from his role and beginning his retirement following a 30-year career with us.

We will cover Paul’s impactful work at Walsingham Support in the near future. Today, we are delighted to announce that Holly Spiers has been appointed as Paul’s successor.

Holly has worked in the charity sector for over 20 years, starting her career in High Value and Capital fundraising for arts and heritage organisations such as St Paul’s Cathedral and the Natural History Museum. Holly spent 10 years working in the Hospice sector and at Sue Ryder in various senior leadership roles. Holly has a particular interest in improving access to and availability of high quality care and support and developing new funding models to sustain services. Throughout her career, Holly has successfully combined responsibility for service delivery with income generation, along with devising and implementing new strategies and service models. Holly brings strong partnership and fundraising skills together with an excellent track record of coproduction, quality improvement and personalised care.

On her appointment, Holly said:

“I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Walsingham Support. I am passionate about ensuring support is personalised and enables people to live their very best lives.

Walsingham Support is a well-respected organisation; I am excited by future opportunities and honoured to be taking forward the legacy of Paul Snell and his family.”

On Holly’s appointment, Paul said:

“Enabling individuals with disabilities to live fulfilled and happy lives over the past 36 years has been our primary focus and collectively as a team Walsingham Support have made great progress but also recognise there is more to do, and we are absolutely delighted that Holly is joining us as Chief Executive to begin our next chapter, building on our achievements to date and evolving the work, impact and success of the organisation further into the future.”
