Mick started his career in Social Care as a Support Worker and worked across residential homes, supported living homes and community based out-reach services. Mick later qualified as a Nurse and worked for the NHS for a short while. Mick is an Advanced Member of the Institute of Directors and is educated to a MSc level in Health and Social Care.
Mick says that it was his time as a Support Worker that really shaped his outlook on life and cemented his passion for a hands-on approach to Operations and Development. As Director of Operations and Development, Mick is responsible for ensuring that Walsingham Support continues to support individuals to have the best possible life of their choosing. Mick says “it’s a privilege to hold this role and to be part of a great team that continues to push up standards and practices that promote people who may be disabled or disadvantaged, to become role models and positive influencers in their communities.
Mick has a small but close family network that includes his partner, mum and sister. Mick likes to take time out to enjoy the simple things in life and says “the older I get, the more I realise it’s the simple things in life that are the most important and to be surrounded by the people I love”
