Job Seekers

We offer stepping stones into work. We recognize not all people will want to do paid work. We believe work is much more than just “finding something to do”. You will learn new skills, grow in confidence, be more independent, meet new people and the possibility of earning some money. You will meet other people in the wider community.

• If you are interested in seeking a job, paid or unpaid, we will get to know you and try to help you work out your goals.

• We help you work out what skills you already have and what you would like to get better at doing.

• We work together with employers. They need you and you need them. Our job is to bring you together.

• We work hard to match you to work that suits your skills and meets the employers business needs too.

• We monitor how it’s going for the you and the employer. Sometimes we provide a job coach at work to train and support you so you can work independently.

How do we help job seekers?

We offer -

• Weekly job clubs

• 12-week employability programmes

• Work tasters

• Work experience

• Voluntary placements

• Social enterprise projects like pop up cafes

• Paid work

Weekly job clubs offer people the opportunity to work in a small group (no more than 6 people) with common a purpose - to find work. We follow an employability programme which aims to improve understanding of what employers expect, how to communicate with colleagues and customers, team building skills, codes of conduct, CV building and interview skills.

Work tasters give you a chance to try out a work place to see if you would like to do some work experience, become a volunteer or start paid work.

There are opportunities to do work for our social enterprise projects like our pop up café The Pink Sheep Café and The Pink Sheep Bakers.
