January is not just the beginning of a new year but also the beginning of another Walsingham Support mile stone as we enter our 30th year of service!
Founded in 1986 by husband and wife Mark and Anne Snell, Walsingham has hit the ground running over the past 30 years, expanding from a single residential home in Hertfordshire to over 180 locations around the UK, supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries and complex needs.
Chief Executive Paul Snell son of Mark and Ann was handed the reins back in 2005 and has this to say about our monumentally achievement “We are very proud to have supported people with disabilities for 30 years. The organisation started with one service in Watford and today we support close to 400 people and have 9 offices across England and Wales. And we have no plans of stopping there. We will always look for new ways of supporting people”.
To mark our 30th anniversary, we plan on raising £30,000 (of course!) through a series of fundraising events, including a skydive and a 10K London Run.
Funds will be used to launch new projects and purchase equipment that will support people with disabilities to achieve their goals and live a more independent life.
So a huge thank you to everybody for all your support from us here at Walsingham Support, and here’s to the next 30 years!
