The big day has arrived and we got to celebrate the launch of the new look Forge Fach Community Resource Centre in Clydach.
Having taken over management of the community centre in October 2015 Walsingham Support decided to take on the lease to ensure the continuation of the community centre as a resource for everyone to use and enjoy regardless of their background or ability.
Since taking charge, Resource Centre Manager Matthew Bailey has developed the centre’s offering to deliver a wide range of activities and resources including sports classes, a café, cinema, crèche and conference facilities.
The centre has already started a number of locally run social enterprises including a community garden, a children’s play area and Forge ahead, a cycling scheme which raises funds to provide specially adapted bikes for people with disabilities.
Matthew Bailey said
“We have lots of exciting plans and look forward to welcoming the whole community along. They will have the opportunity to enjoy the centre and everything it has to offer.”
Paul Snell, Chief Executive of Walsingham Support, officially unveiled the new look said,
“The team at Forge Fach have worked tirelessly to create a social hub at the centre of the community where people of all abilities can come together and take part in a range of different activities and I am very proud of what they have achieved.”
Forge Fach Community Resource Centre will offer activities for people of all ages and disabilities, hold events that the whole community can enjoy as well as become a hub for locals. The only way is up from here for Forge Fach and we are all looking forward to the journey.
