You could choose to get money from the council to pay for your own support. This is called self-directed support.
You can then choose what kind of support you want and use the money to pay for it.
But you must be able to look after the money you get properly. It is a big responsibility.We can support you to do this.
council
The council are the people who look after the area where you live. They do things like run the schools, make sure the streets are clean and provide housing for people who need it.
direct payment
A direct payment is money given to you to pay for your support. You can choose how you spend it.
responsibility
If you have to look after something and make sure it is kept safe, it is sometimes called your responsibility.
self-directed support
When people are given money to choose their own support it is sometimes called self-directed support.
staff
People who work for Walsingham are called staff.
