Families and friends
The families and friends of the people we support are very important to us.
Walsingham was started by a parent of a person with learning disabilities.
Some of the directors and trustees have relatives who have learning disabilities.
This makes a difference to the way we work.Everyone is valued the same whether they work for Walsingham or get support from us.
Our staff have lots of training to help them do their jobs better. They learn about our values and involving the people they support.
These things are very important.
Everyone is different. We make sure that people are supported as an individual in the way that is right for them.
Read more about how we support people as individuals.
It is very important for families and friends to be involved with the support we provide. We can learn a lot from each other.
We write newsletters to tell people what is happening at Walsingham.
Some services also write their own newsletters and have meetings with families and friends as well.
Please tell us if you have any ideas about how you could be more involved or things we could do differently.Click here to find out how to talk to us.
