Our support services
Walsingham provides housing, care and support for people with learning disabilities who are aged 18 or over. Some people also have a physical disability, sensory impairment, mental illness or multiple and profound disabilities.
We run residential care services for people with learning disabilities. People usually live in six-bedroom houses that have a lounge, dining room, kitchen and bathrooms. Everyone has their own bedroom.
We also run supported living services for people with learning disabilities. People live on their own or share a house with others. They have more control over their lives than people using residential care services and are responsible for things like paying for food and rent.
Walsingham staff provide 24-hour care for all our services.
How to access our services
People who want to use our services have an assessment to see if we can meet their needs. This is usually done by a care manager from the local authority where someone lives. Visits are then arranged to meet the people who already live in the house followed by an overnight stay. Everyone then gets a chance to say if it would be right for that person to move in.
