What is the CRB Disclosure Service?
The CRB, an Executive Agency of the Home Office, provides a service that enables companies and individuals to gain access to criminal record information via the Disclosure process.

The CRB Disclosure Service uses records held by the police, the Department of Health (DH) and the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) to make thorough checks on all staff working or applying to work with children, vulnerable adults and other relevant groups.

Why is a Disclosure required?
A Disclosure provides you with information so you can ensure that candidates or existing staff with criminal convictions or a history of unsuitable behaviour are not allowed to work with vulnerable adults and children.

Checks are not limited to social care; members of the legal, financial or accountancy professions or anyone who handles sensitive information may also require CRB checks.

Our services
We provide two types of Disclosure - Standard and Enhanced. Our CRB team can advise you on the type you need.

We are also able to provide PoVAFirst checks (and Fast Track PoCA checks if eligible) for situations where staffing levels require employees to work immediately. Our CRB team are happy to discuss your requirements.

We comply with the CRB Code of Practice and make sure that information about your candidates is handled securely and with confidentiality.

supply you with Disclosure application forms and provide detailed, easy-to-follow guidance notes to help you complete accurate applications
thoroughly check each application to reduce delays and provide quality assurance checks
post applications to the CRB within 24 hours of receipt of payment
send Disclosure information within 24 hours of receipt from the CRB
provide a safe storage, handling and disposal service that complies with CRB code of practice
offer you expert advice and training on all aspects of CRB policy and procedure, including the interpretation of conviction data
provide dedicated account management and reports
keep you informed with regular updates on CRB development
